A unique history

A Unique History

The first 'West of England' festival was held at Truro Cricket Club in Cornwall in July 1983. Eventually all these festivals moved to Kings College at Taunton, helped by phenomenal work by the then Head Groundsman, Dennis Breakwell.

Incredible Heritage

2023 marks 40 years of festivals, interrupted only by the pandemic in 2020-2021. Thousands of young cricketers have played at Kings, including many who currently play in the full England team and several playing first class cricket.

We have even had young players who are now in the national teams for the Barbados, Trinidad, South Africa and the Netherlands. This summer there will be 80 teams from Under 10s up to Under 14s playing this, the greatest of games.
